Ipswich Building Society – UK Mortgage Lender
The Ipswich Building Society was founded in 1849 as a freehold land society. It is the 35th largest building society in the UK.
The society has eight branches and five agencies in Suffolk.
Mortgage Products
Fixed Rate Mortgages: 3 year and 10 year fixed rate mortgages and remortgages; 2 year fixed rate shared ownership mortgages.
Discount Mortgages: 2 year and 5 year discounted rate mortgages and remortgages.
Standard Variable Rate Mortgage: a variable rate mortgage where monthly repayments go up and down in line with the lender’s base rate; offset option available.
The Ipswich Building Society is a local building society that prides itself in understanding the area and offering unrivalled local advice. As such, most of its borrowers are also based in the Ipswich area, although the products are available on properties across England and Wales as well.
Traditional mortgage offerings include the variable and fixed rate mortgages. Ipswich Building Society also offers products specifically for the buy to let market, which isn’t surprising given the rising popularity of Suffolk as a holiday destination.
As well as mortgages the Ipswich offers savings and loans. Savings accounts vary from the easy access types of accounts to long term investments that require regular savings but also offer very favourable rates.
Insurance products are also available which cover damage to buildings and contents as well as protection on mortgage payments. Both of these can be taken out alongside the mortgages offered or independently.
