Hinckley and Rugby Building Society – UK Mortgage Lender
The Hinckley and Rugby Building Society was created in 1983 by a merger of the Hinckley Permanent Building Society, originally founded in 1865 and the Rugby Provident Building Society, which was founded in 1861. It is the 27th largest building society in the UK.
The society has eleven branches in Leicestershire and Warwickshire.
Mortgage Products
Tracker Mortgages: lifetime base rate tracker mortgages capped for the first two years.
Discount Mortgages: 10 year discounted rate mortgages and remortgages.
Flexible Mortgages: variable rate mortgages with options for underpayments, overpayments and payment holidays; offset options available.
Standard Variable Rate Mortgage: a variable rate mortgage where monthly repayments go up and down in line with the lender’s base rate.
The Hinckley and Rugby Building Society offers mortgage and investment products for those in the East Midlands area only, allowing them to offer specialist and local products for local people. As a mutual society, all profits are ploughed back to the members ensuring that all products are cost effective and tailor made. Products are available to those outside of the immediate area but they may not be as cost effective as those available to local individuals because products are directly linked to the post code in which the customer lives.
The Hinckley and Rugby Building Society has approximately 80,000 investors and 9,000 borrowers although most borrowers are also investors to ensure that they make the most of the products on offer.
