Furness Building Society – UK Mortgage Lender
The Furness Building Society was founded as a mutual society in 1865 in Barrow in Furness. It is the 23rd largest building society in the UK.
The society has 11 branches, all located in northwest England.
Fixed Rate Mortgages: 3 year fixed rate mortgages and remortgages.
Discount Mortgages: 3 year discounted rate and stepped discounted rate mortgages and remortgages; lifetime discounted rate mortgages and remortgages.
Standard Variable Rate Mortgage: a variable rate mortgage where monthly repayments go up and down in line with the lender’s base rate; cashback options available.
As with many mutual building societies, Furness Building Society prides itself in offering good quality products at a cost effective rate that benefits its members without the requirement to make profits for shareholders.
Furness Building Society has its own financial advisor services allowing customers the opportunity to ensure that their entire circumstances are taken into account.
Instead of offering insurances directly, Furness Building Society has created an insurance club whereby members can enjoy discounts from some of the largest insurance providers such as AXA and Insure and Go.
Alongside the mortgage options there are a range of savings accounts which are available independently including ISA’s, notice accounts and young savers accounts. Furness offers a Home saver saving account that offers a 2% bonus on the savings when a mortgage is taken out making it ideal for those saving for a first time deposit.
