Cheshire Building Society – UK Mortgage Lender
The Cheshire Building Society was founded in Macclesfield in 1870. Following a series of mergers, it has become the 12th largest building society in the UK.
The society has 49 branches located in north west England and north east Wales.
Fixed Rate Mortgages: 2 year, 3 year, 5 year, 20 year and 25 year fixed rate mortgages.
Discounted Mortgages: 3 year discounted variable rate mortgages.
First Time Buyers: 3 year stepped fixed rate and 3 year discounted variable rate mortgages.
Self-Certification Mortgages: mortgages where borrowers state their income but do not provide corroborating evidence; often used by self-employed people with insufficient evidence of their earnings; 2 year fixed rate and 3 year base rate tracker mortgages available.
Buy To Let Mortgages: 2 year and 5 year fixed rate mortgages are available for the purchase of rental property up to the value of £1 million.
Cheshire Building Society offers some of the most diverse product ranges available from a building society. Of particular note is the fixed rate mortgage option for 25 years offering predictability of payments for the duration of the mortgage.
Although the building society is very much considered a national organisation due to its size and the availability of mortgages online, there is still a regional feel with some products only available for property in the north west of England, such as shared ownership mortgages.
There is also a range of commercial mortgages available aimed at commercial properties for investors and business owners as well as for social housing purchases.
